Frequently Asked Questions
Home care and professional treatments work together. We assess your visible skin concerns, review your routine and select suitable treatments. You also receive guidance on what to use at home and how to avoid unnecessary or overlapping products.
An aesthetician specializes in cosmetic skin care, including cleansing, exfoliation, hydration, appropriate extractions and facial massage. At Beauty Unlimited Spa, we focus on improving your skin’s appearance and comfort. Medical conditions and suspicious skin changes need assessment by a healthcare professional.
The epidermis is your skin’s outer layer. Its outermost barrier helps retain moisture and protect against irritants. Caring for this barrier is an important part of maintaining comfortable skin and a smooth, healthy-looking complexion.
You do not need to choose every treatment step yourself. We discuss your concerns, assess your skin and review relevant products, medications and recent procedures. We then recommend a facial suited to your needs and tolerance.
Depending on your skin, it may include cleansing, suitable exfoliation, selective extractions, a mask and hydration. We adjust the treatment to address surface buildup and clogged pores while avoiding unnecessary irritation.
You may feel some brief discomfort, but extractions should not involve excessive pressure. They can remove suitable pore blockages, but they do not permanently shrink pores. We avoid squeezing painful or inflamed lesions.
A suitable facial may help with surface congestion and support your routine. Painful, deep, persistent or scarring acne needs medical assessment. Tell us about any acne medication so we can decide whether to adapt or postpone your treatment.
Sometimes, with a gentle, carefully selected approach. We may avoid heat, strong exfoliation and vigorous massage. Please tell us about diagnosed conditions and current irritation; an active flare may require postponement or advice from your healthcare provider.
Exfoliation removes accumulated dead cells from the skin’s surface and may improve dullness or rough texture. It is not essential for everyone. The method and frequency should suit your skin, especially if you use retinol or other potentially irritating products.
Exfoliation is the broader process of removing surface dead cells. A chemical peel is one method, using a chemical solution at a selected strength and depth. Superficial peels and deeper medical peels have different purposes, risks and recovery requirements.
An appropriate peel may improve uneven tone, certain dark spots, fine lines and rough texture. Results depend on the concern and the peel selected. Your skin tone and history matter because an unsuitable peel can cause irritation or pigmentation changes.
That depends on the treatment. Some gentle facials involve little downtime, while peels and microneedling may cause redness, sensitivity or flaking. Visible peeling is not required for every treatment to work. We explain the expected recovery before proceeding.
Some specific treatments, such as appropriately performed microneedling, can stimulate collagen through a controlled healing response. A basic cleansing or hydrating facial does not produce the same effect. We distinguish immediate improvements in hydration from gradual changes in skin structure.
Skin care cannot stop biological aging, but it can help improve visible concerns and reduce preventable sun-related aging. Daily sun protection, suitable home care and selected professional treatments can support a fresher-looking complexion over time.
Facial massage can provide relaxation and a sense of reduced tension. Some clients enjoy a temporarily refreshed appearance. Evidence for lasting changes in muscle tone or facial lifting is still limited, so we keep expectations realistic.
Fascia is connective tissue associated with muscles and other structures. Gentle myofascial techniques work with facial soft tissues and may feel relaxing. Permanent lifting of fascia or reversal of aging through massage has not been established.
Microdermabrasion exfoliates the skin’s surface to improve the look and feel of rough or dull skin. Microneedling uses fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries and can stimulate collagen production. They work at different depths, so suitability, recovery and expected results differ.
Tell us about your current skin care, medications, allergies and any recent skin treatments. Avoid introducing new exfoliating products just before your appointment. If you have sunburn, an active cold sore or significant irritation, contact us first. We will explain any treatment-specific preparation.
There is no single schedule for everyone. We recommend timing based on your skin, goals, budget and treatment type. Hydration or surface smoothness may improve after one visit, while concerns such as pigmentation or collagen-related changes may need a series and time to develop.
Start with a suitable cleanser, moisturizer and daily broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher; add targeted products when appropriate. Buying through your spa offers personalized selection and support with use. Professional products are not automatically better than every retail option—the value is finding well-formulated products that suit you.
